WCB Standard OFA1: Certification of Occupational First Aid Attendants

The WCB Standard OFA1 has been revised to reflect certain changes that have arisen out of the development of a harmonized first aid standard for the four western Canadian provinces and two western territories. The changes are to the duration of all levels of occupational first aid certificates (increasing to three years) and the elimination of the mandatory medical certificate of fitness for candidates for the Level 2 and Level 3 examinations. Candidates will be required to complete a self-disclosure statement of fitness in order to take a Level 2 or 3 examination. Medical certificates may still be required by an employer or by a Board officer. This standard is accessed through G3.14 First aid attendant certification, qualifications, and general responsibilities and G3.21 Suspension and cancellation of first aid certificates.

WCB Standard: PPE 14.1 Leg Protection for Chain Saw Users (Agriculture Operations only) has been removed from the WorkSafeBC website. This standard was replaced by WCB Standard PPE 1 - 1997 Leg Protective Devices. The Agriculture Operations standard had been left on the website for information purposes only.
