A joint occupational health and safety committee is made up of workers and employers working together to identify health and safety problems in the workplace. Each member of a joint committee is entitled to 8 hours annual educational leave to attend occupational health and safety training courses conducted by or with the approval of WorkSafeBC. This entitlement is specified in section 135 of the Workers Compensation Act. WorkSafe Courses are suitable for occupational health and safety committee members, supervisors, workers, and health and safety professionals committed to preventing occupational injury and disease, as well as for members of the general public interested in acquiring a better understanding of risks associated with their work. For information about schedules or fees, or to register for a course, contact a partner of the WorkSafe Education Network (PDF 98 kb). Not all courses are offered by all Partners. Resources
