What is the difference between education and training?
Education provides general information; training is job-specific and task-specific. Training can include a process for feedback, evaluation, and follow-up to ensure that workers understand as well as apply what was taught.
Section 4.51(1) of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation requires employers to educate workers in risk identification related to the work, including the recognition of early signs and symptoms of MSIs and their potential health effects.
Section 4.51(2) requires employers to train workers to use MSI control measures that are implemented, including, where applicable, work procedures, mechanical aids, and personal protective equipment.
