Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) License

The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) license is different from the certificates issued by the training agencies noted above. Those certificates represent training that has been reviewed and accepted by the Workers' Compensation Board of B.C. as satisfying Occupational First Aid requirements. Compliance and expiry follow the WorkSafe regulation for Occupational First Aid level 3 criteria. The EMR license, in contrast, is issued and regulated by the Emergency Medical Assistant Licensing Board. This license can be used by industry instead of OFA certification. For further information pertaining to licensing by the EMA Licensing Board, please go to http://www.health.gov.bc.ca/ema/.
