PURPOSE



This lesson identifies workplace health and safety rights and responsibilities of employers, managers, supervisors, and workers and how following these legal obligations creates a safe working environment.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES



Students will:
  • describe the rights and responsibilities for employers, supervisors and workers in creating a safe workplace
  • complete an online test after experiencing a self-paced, interactive program that helps new workers understand their health and safety rights and responsibilities in the workplace

INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN



  1. Download and review Rights and Responsibilities Program Guide
  2. Log onto www.raiseyourhand.com and go to Rights and Responsibilites Program
  3. Instruct students to start the program game individually or create group participation exercise using lap top and LCD projector
  4. Complete online studies and test.
  5. Debrief answers as a class and open discussion on each question to ensure understanding
  6. For individual participation, ask students to print and turn in test results following completion of the program
