Ever worked near a power line and not recognized the hazard? Against the background of a grey sky, power lines can be difficult to see - and all too easily overlooked as a hazard.

Day of Mourning - Monday, April 28, 2008
On Monday, April 28, take time to commemorate lives lost as a result of workplace injury or disease. Public ceremonies will be held around the province. In Vancouver, the public ceremony will be held at the Workers' Memorial in the Sanctuary at Hastings Park, starting at 10:00 a.m.

Work-related safety equipment exempt from PST
Effective February 20, 2008
Work-related safety equipment and protective clothing designed to be worn by or attached to a worker is now exempt from PST, providing it meets provincial work safety legislation and is bought by a qualified purchaser.
