Day of Mourning - April 28, 2010

Every year, WorkSafeBC, the B.C. Federation of Labour, and the Business Council of British Columbia co-host a public ceremony to remember workers who have lost their lives as a result of work-related accidents or occupational diseases. The Day of Mourning ceremony will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 10:30 a.m., at the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Safety & Health Week - May 2-8, 2010

The North American Occupational Safety and Health Week (NAOSHWeek), from May 2 to 8, 2010, is a time for employers, workers, and all partners in occupational health and safety to focus on preventing injury and illness in the workplace.

Your workplace can take part by:

  • Setting new goals for workplace health and safety
  • Creating awareness of these goals within and outside your organization
  • Making a plan to accomplish these goals

This year's NAOSHWeek theme is Safety & Health - a Commitment for Life: How Safe Are You?

Public hearings on proposed regulatory changes - May - June 2010

These public hearings will provide stakeholders with an opportunity to comment on proposed regulatory amendments. WorkSafeBC welcomes your feedback on the amendments through either written submissions or participation at the public hearings. All feedback received will be presented to the Board of Directors of WorkSafeBC for their consideration. For the healthcare sector, the proposed changes related to respiratory protection and biohazardous agents will be of specific interest.
