Health Care Update - April 9, 2010
Spaces still available in the afternoon session of the Patient Handling Workshop - May 4th at the Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver

Shoppers Home Health Care and WorkSafeBC are hosting a half-day hands-on workshop for directors of care, floor supervisors and trainers, care aides and other frontline staff who provide direct patient care. Attendees will receive instruction from professional trainers on the use of ceiling and floor lifts and other transfer assist devices, and will be required to practice transfers and repositioning tasks using the equipment.

The goal of the workshop is to improve workers' skills using the equipment - skills they can then take back to their facility to share with their coworkers.

The afternoon session runs from 1:00 to 4:30pm. The cost is $25. To print the registration form, go to worksafebc.com. For more information, contact Shima Kourtessis at 604-326-1117 (ext. 238) or email skourtessis@shoppershomehealthcare.ca
