Ceiling lifts - They're not just for transfers
Handling patients accounts for one in three injuries among
health care workers. Other common care tasks can also pose
a risk to workers. Ceiling lifts, when used with a variety
of slings, can help to reduce those risks.

Ceiling lifts vs. floor lifts - What's the difference?
Care facilities need a combination of both total body floor
lifts and ceiling lifts to perform patient handling tasks.
This bulletin discusses key differences between these types
of lifts that should be considered when determining which
lift to use or purchase.

North American Occupational Safety and Health Week (NAOSHWeek),
from May 1 to 7, 2011, is a time for employers, workers, and all
partners in occupational health and safety to focus on preventing

Day of Mourning
Thursday
April 28, 2011, marks B.C.'s annual Day of Mourning for workers
who lost their lives to workplace injury or occupational disease.
To recognize this day at your workplace, print and display our Day

worker at the Day
of Mourning website.
