1 - Status quo - The Variable Shift Worker policy would not be amended.
2 - Revise the Variable Shift Worker policy to reference on call workers who work regularly but at different rates of pay; introduce a more flexible approach to determining short-term average earnings; exclude prior periods of wage-loss compensation; and ensure consistent use of the terms "date of injury" and "time of injury" in policy.
3 - Treat on call workers with variable rates of pay as regular workers.
