While logging downhill
on a 75 percent slope,
the Hooktender and
Chokerman pulled the
back chokers up to set
a turn. One of the logs
choked was the small end of a 43 foot
log lying uphill. They then moved in
the clear but did not tell the Rigging
Slinger what they had choked. The
Rigging Slinger set his choker and
moved to the side. However, he was
not in the clear when he blew go-ahead.
The small log up-ended, swung
over and struck the Rigging Slinger,
inflicting fatal injuries.
