It was a small setting,
consisting of a 200-foot strip
below the road. The yarding
crew, using a 90-foot spar,
were just dumping the logs
in the landing as a loader
was on its way. When a
three-log turn came in, the
Chaser ran up the cold deck
pile and unhooked one
choker. When he jumped on
the second log, the whole
turn slid back and rolled.
The Chaser was thrown
down the pile on his back
and the second log landed
on his chest, causing fatal
injuries.
